Have a ball at Adult Prom Casino Night!

Who ever said that adults can’t enjoy prom too? Get all dolled up with your partner or friends, let loose and have a night to remember at Adult Prom Casino Night this Saturday, March 2, at 8 p.m. in the Grafton Community Center.

Throughout the last 20 years, the adult prom has gone through various themes, including Forever Young, Moonlit Garden and Tropical Escape. This year, the committee chose Casino Night, where attendees can enjoy a fun night of games and dancing to music provided by Overtime DJ Service from Lake Mills.

“I think I’m most looking forward to seeing people on the dance floor having a great time,” said Abbie Steinberg, vice president of Grafton Community Action. “We didn’t have it one year due to COVID, and I think we recognized how much we enjoy getting together and being in each other’s company.”

Grafton Community Action is a committee that works to improve the community and provide activities to its citizens. Proceeds for the adult prom will go toward upkeeping the community center, providing a cost-effective facility for people to rent the space, get gym memberships and take classes.

“There’s a lot of things in that building that help support our community, so the money that we raise just goes back into the upkeep of the building, and sometimes, special projects related to that,” said Steinberg.

Attendees can purchase tickets to play games, including beat the dealer, wheel of fortune and scratch-offs to win various prizes. Between playing games and dancing, individuals can visit the full bar and enjoy the night’s specialty drinks: Sin City Coolers and Vegas Bomb shots. Tickets are available at the door for $10 per person.

“We’re pretty lucky to have such a building in such a small community that brings people from outside our town to Grafton,” Steinberg said. “I think our hope is that by hosting and having more events there, it will bring people into town to support the other small businesses that we have here.”
