Shop Iowa E-commerce Platform Announces Second Annual Day of Special Deals to Show Support for Iowa Small Businesses

October 5, 2023 (MARION, IA) – Shop Iowa, a statewide e-commerce marketplace initiative of the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA), has announced the second annual ‘Shop Iowa Day’ on October 11, 2023, a day to celebrate Iowa retailers. This dedicated shopping day spotlights small businesses across the state on the platform and offers special promotions for consumers. The online marketplace makes it easy to shop local ahead of the holiday season.

Shop Iowa launched in August 2020 as a convenient way to support local retailers through a one-stop shop. It serves as an additional revenue stream for businesses already familiar with e-commerce, but also provides an opportunity to help businesses step into selling online for the first time with support from Member Marketplace, Inc., the Iowa small business team that manages the platform.

“Every purchase made on Shop Iowa goes directly to supporting small businesses, who are such an important part of our local economies and communities,” said Debi Durham, director of IEDA and Iowa Finance Authority. “The marketplace has made a positive impact on local retailers in all 99 counties and will continue to do so as customers from all over discover the great products offered by Iowa’s local retailers.”
