Community Info

German settlers founded Grafton and in 1878 it was platted.

Interesting facts about Grafton:  The Grafton House was a hotel that provided lodging for businessmen traveling through; it housed a cigar factory as well. Flax was processed in the mill in Grafton and the bales were sent to the Stillwater, MN, prison to be made into rope, twine, and furniture upholstery packing. The turkey-raising industry began in the 1940s and the Turkey Days Celebration, started in the 70s, still goes on today.
